     Once again, this year we will ski Bretton Woods and enjoy lodging accommodations at The AMC Highland Center Lodge at Crawford Notch, NH. The Lodge is 2 miles from the Bretton Woods downhill ski area.

    The reservation includes dinner each night, including Sunday night, and breakfast each morning. A private room will be provided for our apres-ski gathering. Bring your favorite snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

    Cross Country skiers are 1 mile from the Nordic Center, at The Mt Washington - Omni Hotel. Check with the Hotel info line, 603-278-3322 for pricing and trail conditions.

    The Highland offers complimentary LL Bean gear for us to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis. The gear room is usually stocked with boots, backpacks, hiking poles, and snowshoes, but they do not have any Cross-Country skiing equipment.

    You can choose to stay one, two, three, or four nights. You can view the various room options at outdoors.org.

    Pricing: US$140 to US$256 per room per night (+8.5% NH tax). Price depends on room and bath configuration and number of occupants.

    The “Beast of the East” Killington Ski Area will once again be our destination. Everyone can enjoy 5 to 6 days of downhill or cross-country skiing and relax in the evenings at The Mountain Inn.

    Killington is one of the largest ski areas in the eastern U.S., with 155 trails for all abilities (28% easier, 33% more difficult, 39% most difficult). Cross- country skiing and snowshoeing are available less than 30 min away at Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, VT, or Woodstock Country Club.

    Located just minutes from the base of the mountain, The Mountain Inn is a modern, rustic hotel. It provides a private shuttle bus for guests only that runs on a regular loop to Snowshed base area and also can be called as needed.

    The Mountain Inn is holding a block of 10 rooms for the Gang. Each room has two queen beds, mini- fridge, TV, and Wi-Fi. The amenities at the Inn include a convenient ski storage area, outdoor heated pool, bar, full-service restaurant, and is home to the Killington Distillery. We also can gather for an après-ski in the upstairs common space.

    Week-night dinners will be at a restaurant of your choice - it can be at the Inn, where they specialize in farm-to-table offerings made with locally sourced ingredients, or at one of many local restaurants. We will try to organize at least one group dinner nearby.

    Lift Tickets:

    Once again, we will stay at The Mountaineer Inn for our ski trip to Mt. Snow.

    We’ve booked 12 rooms for our 4 night stay. Check- in time is 3:00 pm.

    The hotel amenities include breakfast each morning, use of the geo-thermal hot tub & sauna, library, and game room for gatherings after skiing. The free shuttle runs every 30 min and makes multiple stops around the resort.

    Accommodations and amenities can be viewed online at mountaineerinn.com. Please note that cash is no longer accepted at any Mt Snow owned and operated properties.

    They do not have a liquor license, so BYOB. No other meals are available at the hotel except the continental breakfast. There are many good restaurants in the area which we enjoyed last year.

    Lift Tickets Downhill skiing:

    Snowshoeing and Cross-Country skiing:

    • There are snowshoeing trails at the resort. Cross-country ski facilities with groomed trails and rental equipment are about 30 miles from Mt Snow. A full-day pass is $20 for adults.

    Attention Downhill Skiers, Cross Country Skiers, Snow Shoers and Hikers! We are once again planning our annual ski trip to Waterville Valley. Everyone who attended last year’s trip thoroughly enjoyed all that Waterville has to offer.

    The Ski Touring Center is world class and is within walking distance to the hotel. It has an excellent reputation for all levels of skiers from beginners to experienced.

    There are several areas that offer free Snow Shoeing that folks thoroughly enjoyed last year.

    And we had some adventurous hikers last year who found some easy to reach hiking trails very nearby.

    We have reserved rooms at the Silver Fox Inn, which is conveniently located within walking distance to most everything in Town Square. Most of the rooms offer two queen beds, but some offer king beds for those who would prefer a king bed. A free shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes with a convenient pickup and drop-off location at the end of the hotel parking lot.

    The area also has the White Mountain Athletic Club, there will be an additional charge to gain access. The club has indoor pools, jacuzzi, indoor tennis courts, free weights and weight room, cardio room, 1 hour of open skating time at the ice arena, and more.

    We are planning a Pizza Party on Sunday evening in a large common gathering space, which is BYOB and is included in the package price.

    A breakfast buffet with numerous hot and cold selections will be served each morning in the dining room. There will be four additional dinners which will be a chef’s choice buffet including a beef option, chicken or fish option, vegetarian option with rolls, butter, salad, starch, and vegetables as well as a dessert table. Breakfasts and Dinners are included in the price of the room rates. Lunch is the only meal not included.

    If you would prefer not to eat in the hotel on any of the nights, there are several restaurants either within walking distance or a short drive away. Coyote Grill, Valley Pub & Restaurant, La Hacienda Mexicana, La Tasse, Olde Waterville Pizza and Snowy Owl Pub.

    The Hotel does not have a Liquor License so we will be allowed to BYOB to all activities at the hotel. We plan to host a social hour each evening after all activities where we can meet, bring appetizers, wine, beer, or the drink of your choice alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

    The prices listed below are all inclusive and include soft drinks, snacks, beer, and wine which will be available for the social gathering and can be brought to dinner, all supplied by TOHG. Everyone who attended the trip in past years found the gathering areas wonderful places to relax and enjoy Après Ski each night.

    We will return to Sugarloaf Mountain Resort in Carrabassett Valley Maine, where we have previously enjoyed the large expanse of varied terrain including the second highest peak in Maine at 4,237 ft.

    We’ll be upgrading our lodging choice to the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel. With a design inspired by classic New England farmhouses, the Hotel evokes the warmth of a rustic mountain lodge wih the convenience of a modern world-class resort. It’s located on the mountain, with ski-in/ski-out access to the main plaza and several ski lifts. The hotel amenities include a 30-person outdoor hot tub, fitness center including a steam room and sauna.

    We have reserved double rooms for about 20 people (Single upon request). All rooms include a wet bar, mini- fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. The hotel serves breakfast and dinner in the highly rated on-site restaurant 45 North. We will arrange for at least one group dinner outing. We’ll also be hosting daily apres-ski get togethers with snacks and beverages.

    All trails lead to the slope side of Sugarloaf Alpine Village, which offers some restaurants and shops. In addition, besides alpine skiing, Sugarloaf also has The Outdoor Center, Maine’s largest Nordic center, for cross-country skiers tucked into the woods just minutes from the base area. The lodge has a full Nordic retail shop, rental center, and café – all surrounded by some of the most picturesque trails in New England. The Sugarloaf Explorer Shuttle provides transportation to that area along its route.

    And for non-skiers, the Anti-Gravity Complex run by the Recreation Department is Carrabassett Valley’s home to indoor adventure with multiple sports and fitness activities such as indoor track, and weight room (daily fees apply).     Once again Lawrencian Ski Club in Bartlett, NH has opened their lodge to the Top of the Hill Gang members. It’s a large, comfortable place with plenty of rooms, large living room for socializing and ample kitchen and dining area.

    All the beds at the ski club are bunk beds. Everyone will have a bottom bunk. NO ROOMS are co-ed – there are separate women’s and men’s quarters. All rooms will have 2 or 3 occupants.

    YOU MUST bring sheets, pillow and a blanket (OR a sleeping bag) and towels. None of these are provided. There are shared baths.

    The plan is for meals to be at the club, but you are free to go out if you wish.

    • Breakfasts: I will bring bagels, English muffins, fruit, juice, peanut butter and jelly, cream cheese, coffee, tea, cream and sugar. Feel free to bring whatever else you’d like.
    • Lunches: on your own.
    • Suppers: The first night will be a potluck. Everyone will be asked to bring either a main course, salad or dessert. These will be assigned according to the first letter of your last name.

    The second night we’ll have a pizza and salad party (for an additional charge) for those who are interested. If not, there are many restaurants in the area you can try out.

    Both nights will feature a Happy Hour, so BYOB and a snack to share.

    The trip is limited to 20 people. It’s possible that a few more beds might be available. Any responses over 20 will be put on a waitlist

    Four cross country/snowshoe areas are close by: Bretton Woods and Great Glen are about 30 minutes away; Bear Notch and Jackson are about 10 minutes.

    Looking forward to seeing “old” faces again (those who have come before), and meeting “new” ones!!

    The club is continuing our wonderful tradition of going to the ski-in/ski-out Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River (www.SundayRiver.com). The resort offers the most terrain in the East that spans eight mountain peaks, providing great options for skiers of all ability levels. In addition to downhill skiing, there are myriad cross- country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter hiking options nearby at the Bethel Inn and Carter’s Cross-Country Ski areas. The hotel amenities include Camp restaurant and bar, a large, heated outdoor pool and hot tub for those wanting to soothe their muscles after a day on the slopes, a convenient ski check and small sundries shop.

    Lodging will consist of deluxe suites which comfortably accommodate four people. Each suite consists of a bedroom side with two queen beds, and a kitchenette side with a Murphy bed and sofa bed. Both sides have their own private bathroom. All requests for roommates and room style (bedroom or kitchen side) will be addressed on the online registration form. Final rooming assignments will be provided mid-January 2025. (Note: depending on the distribution of preferences it is possible that a small number of requests kitchen v. bedroom side may not be able to be honored. (That said, last year every member had their preference honored).

    We’ll have a Sunday night reception with flatbread pizza and salad. We’ll offer one group dinner buffet with multiple entrees, side dishes and a lavish dessert. For other meals everyone will have access to the shared kitchen facilities or may wish to visit the various Resort restaurants or visit nearby Bethel.

    We will also have nightly social hours, either in one of the suites or by the fireplace in the lower lobby. And for those so inclined, game nights can be arranged.

    • Sunday River honors the Ikon Pass.

    • For others, multi-day tickets can be purchased through the website. If ordered early, the cost for senior and mid-week tickets can be quite reasonable. Also, we may be eligible for a small group discount on lift tickets (details to follow).

    If you already have a roommate (or are registering for a single room) please register on the TOHG website. Note: each person must register separately. If you need a roommate, please contact the trip leaders who will look to help match you with a roommate. Also, the TOHG website has a “roommate and carpool” section that you can explore to find a potential match. If you have preferred “suite mates” please also indicate on your registration.

    Cancellations: A full refund (minus credit card processing costs) will be issued for any cancellations prior to January 15, 2025. After that date full refunds will be guaranteed only if a replacement member is found or we can consolidate rooms. The closer we get to the dates of the trip, the less likely we will be able to offer any refunds.

    The 2025 Craftsbury trip will again extend five days this winter. The package includes hot meals buffet style every day and includes fresh local produce and home-style cooking. A vegetarian option is offered at each meal. With notice, the kitchen can accommodate only the following dietary needs: lactose intolerance, dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, and life-threatening allergies, such as tree nuts.

    Check-in time is 2:30 pm. Check-out time is 10:30 am. Your meals start with dinner on the day of your arrival and end with lunch on the day of your departure.

    Included with your stay & meals is a pass/membership for access to our programs and trail network.

    Paula B. will run an Essentrics stretch class in the morning to get us moving for the day.

    We will also have a putting and corn hole contest in addition to our card games to entertain us in the evening.

    Please bring a beverage and snack to share at the opening party on Sunday. Our annual Pop-up Book Club will return this year. Morning coffee is always available.

    The trails are classified as moderate and are said to have the best grooming in the Northeast. Rental skis and equipment are available in the Nordic Center.

    The rooms are double occupancy with shared bathrooms.

    Refrigerators are available for guest use in both Cedar Lodge and Pine Lounge.

    Cedar Lodge has a lounge and sauna (remember to pack your bathing suit!).

    Washers and dryers are available for guest use in Cedar Lodge and Pine Lounge by donation.

    The Cedar Lodge TV Room offers satellite TV and has DVD/VCRs.

    We also have a Fitness Center, including ergometers and spin bikes in the Activity Center. Sneakers are required.

    Vermont law prohibits smoking in all public buildings.

    • Double Occupancy only: US$483.00 per person.

    Package includes all meals, buffet style, and a ski pass providing access to cross country, snowshoe, and hiking trails right outside lodge doors.

    We will be staying at the well-known Huntley Lodge, where we have reserved 15 rooms. Big Sky features 320 runs on 5850 acres containing 4350 vertical feet. Please note that there are 6 categories of trails and the highest mountain – Lone Peak – is at 11,166’.

    The Huntley Lodge complex includes a fine dining room, lounge, coffee cart, concierge, shops, ski storage, meeting rooms, and Solace Spa. The Lodge is ski-in/ski-out to the core base area. Rooms feature a wet bar, coffee maker, refrigerator, TV and seating area. The Lodge also features an outdoor swimming pool, two large outdoor hot tubs, a weight room and saunas. www.bigskyresort.com Prior to arriving at the Lodge, we will stop at a supermarket for groceries/beverages.

    The Big Sky Mountain Hosts offer free 90-minute orientation tours of the resort every day twice a day at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, conditions permitting. Tours are designed for intermediate skiers and above on green and blue runs only.

    For first-timers to Big Sky, the resort recommends booking a private lesson. These experts will help skiers figure out the best spots on the mountain for all ability levels. For those looking to explore more expert terrain; booking a Tram Guide is the best and safest way to venture into Big Sky’s high-alpine ski areas.

    Downhill skiers are required to wear ski helmets on all club- sponsored trips.

    ADDITIONALLY, ALL INDIVIDUALS GOING TO BIG SKY ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO HAVE TRIP INSURANCE.

    The tram to Lone Peak is not included in the package price

    Cancellations: Cancellation received more than 90 days before departure will result in a full refund minus vendor penalties and/or whatever is specified on the payment schedule. The refund amount declines with the passage of time.

    If your written notice of cancellation is received less than 30 days before departure, you will receive no refund. Additionally, there will be a $50 per person service charge for any cancellations and any trip component returns.
