Join us for a walk around Horn Pond in Woburn MA and, if willing, the Horn Pond Mountain Trail. The Horn Pond Trail is a 2.4 loop around the pond on a paved relatively smooth and easy trail. This would be an easy start this spring. If you want, we can also climb the Horn Pond Mountain Trail which ascends about 230 feet from the waters' edge. The trail is paved in one direction, but gravel rocky and steep in the other direction. If we do go up I 'd recommend coming down the same way. in good condition. Because of the climb, I would rate it as a moderately difficult trail. It extends about 1.4 miles and includes an old ski center. Those local people old enough may remember when it was a ski hill about 60 or 70 years ago.
Park in the Horn Pond lot at 93 Lake Ave, Woburn, where we will meet. As usual bring water; I do not believe we will need mosquito repellent yet. If you cannot come, please deregister on the website or give the leader.
After the walk, we can go to a local Dunkin Donuts on Main Street or any of the small restaurants on Main Street.
