We hpe you can join us as we bike through the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge. The Assabet River Rail Trail is a "split trail" separated by 2 miles of busy road. We will be biking on the more northern section of the trail which runs from the MBTA South Acton station through Maynard before entering the beautiful 2230 acre Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge.
The ride is approximately 11 miles round trip and includes paved trail, some on road portions and a long dirt road in the Wildlife Refuge. Hybrid and mountain bikes recommended although street bikes are suitable as well if you pay close attention to the dirt road conditions.
The trail ends at Sudbury Rd. and Route 62 where we will turn around and head back to Acton.
The weather forecast looks promising so this should be a beautiful Autumnal ride in the country!
