The Island Line Trail begins at Oakledge Park south of downtown Burlington and continues for approximately 12 miles north to The Cut in Lake Champlain and is one of the most beautiful rail trails in New England. The trail consists of both paved and unpaved sections so mountain bikes and hybrids are recommended.
Tuesday night dinner at an informal restaurant near our hotel.
Wednesday: We will be riding The 127 Bike Path, an off road bike path in the city’s northeast corner, connecting the Old North End with the Ethan Allen Homestead in combination with sections of unpaved trails, the Intervale and Ethan Allen Park. This trail is approximately 6 miles out and back that are remarkably quiet.
For those who might prefer to rent a bike (including E Bikes!) Local Motion Bike Shop is located at Mile 2 of the trail so you may rent a bike there and meet the rest of the group at that point. Reserve directly with Local Motion at (802) 861-2700.
