Please join Jane P. in a 3.6 mile hike through the Smith Conservation Land in Littleton, MA. The hike has several small ups and downs with rocks and roots so hiking poles and boots may be helpful. It is mostly in the woods, starting out along a ridge high above Black Pond, with a chance to see some waterfowl. We will also go down to view the pond at a closer distance on the return trip.
Bring water, insect repellent and possibly a snack. There are no bathroom facilities except the woods with huge rocks to hide behind! If it’s a nice day to eat outdoors, we can go afterwards to Kimball’s, about 6 miles away, to pick up sandwiches, soups or ice cream (of course) and their Fry Shack is now open! Kimballs does have public restrooms.
Meet in the Donelans parking area next to the road at 236 Great Road (Rt 2A and 119), Littleton as carpooling will be necessary.
