Jim R. is leading a walk on a flat 2-mile loop around the Elm Bank Reservation, the domain of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. After the walk, there is an option to visit the current exhibit in the Gardens: "Sculptures in the Garden," 27 pieces presented by the New England Sculpture Association. Admission is $10.
We'll go for coffee afterward at the quaint Charles River Coffee Shop in South Natick, about a mile south on Washington St., at the junction of Union St. across from the Charles River waterfall and the famous Bacon Free Library.
Directions to Elm Bank: From Rt. 128/95, Exit 19 (Newton/Wellesley), go West on Rt. 16 (Washington St.) approx. 3 1/2 miles. Go past Wellesley College property. After 1/3 mile, there will be a red barn on the right; the entrance will be on the left. After going over a small bridge, follow the road as it bears right, then continue past soccer fields to a cluster of buildings. Park and meet at the Visitor Center.
