A group of 12 cyclists enjoyed a ride around Jamestown Island on July 17. The weather was warm and sunny with a southerly wind that picked up to cool us on the trip home along the east side of the island. The route follows the shoreline for most of the ride so a leisurely pace allowed us to enjoy seeing the many sailboats and fishing trawlers on Narragansett Bay. We were rewarded after a few challenging hills by the view at the southern tip of the Island at Beavertail Park.
We returned to Sue’s house for a picnic with salty snacks, sandwiches, fruit, popcorn, water and flavored seltzer. Ice cream cones for dessert disappeared quickly.
A bike ride around Jamestown is always fun, but a ride with the Gang is the best!
