Ad Hoc Trips

From time to time our members inform us of trips they are interested in sharing with gang members. The trips’ descriptions may be published in the “Hill Topics” newsletter under “AD HOC TRIPS” a maximum of three times, for members’ convenience only and limited to 100 words each. These trips are not included in the newsletter’s “Schedule of Upcoming Events”, or in the website’s “Events” schedule. If interested, you may make your reservations directly with the travel agency, and your fees do not go through the club’s Treasurer. These trips are not authorized by Top of the Hill Gang, and the club is not responsible in any way.
Top of the Hill Gang offers trips through its members who volunteer to organize the trips. The members sometimes work through travel/tour companies like Collette, but it is up to the individual Gang volunteer to contact the travel/tour company to begin the process.

Ad Hoc Ski Trips for 2021 season

There is a trip forum for each event where trip contacts and participants can easily exchange information. You will be asked to login in order to access the forum and host/trip contact information.

Important COVID update posted in Forum Mountaineer Inn COVID-19 Guidelines

Hopefully, TOHG friends will join together at Mt Snow, Vermont. The Mountaineer Inn may be offering us Ski and and Stay packages. Due to Covid, many decisions have yet to be made at the state level and at the mountain, which affects the Inn. As soon as information funnels down to us, it will be posted here. As long as there is natural snow, the area offers snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling.

Intervale, NH - Feb 5-7, 2021

Old Field House
347 NH-16A, Intervale, NH 03845

Call reservations at 800-444-9245
Please let organizer know you made reservations

To say that this has been a challenging year is a huge understatement! But life goes on, the snow is coming and plans must (optimistically) be made!
Because I’m basically an optimistic person, I’m planning an ad hoc trip to Old Field House in Intervale, NH. Old Field House is big, comfortable inn that offers lots of amenities – large rooms with private baths and refrigerators, full, hot breakfast included in the room fee, a large gathering place for happy hours and games, snowshoes to borrow if you need them, and even a large, shaggy dog to pet!
Jackson, Bear Notch and Great Glen XC ski areas are within a short commute. Snowshoe trails start right out the back door or a short drive away in town and are all free. Hungry? A pizza party is planned for Friday night and I’ll provide a list of local restaurants for Saturday night’s supper.
If you’d like to come along:

  • Call the toll free number above to make your reservation
  • Let the owners know you’re part of my trip
  • let me know you’re coming by email (See Forum)
